The below stories represent intimate events that personally affected the individuals sharing them. Each episode took place under Albania's communist dictatorship between 1944 - 1990. Some stories recall the family members, friends, and acquaintances impacted by the policies of the regime who are no longer living. Each brief narrative represents an experience that while unique to the individual who is sharing it, is common to the broader narrative of the wounds, unaddressed trauma, and lasting consequences of the persecution that was prevalent under the communist dictatorship.
